ValeArts began in 1996 as a group of ten artists and friends who found the 1888 one-room Vale Schoolhouse the perfect venue for showing and selling their paintings and works of fine art.   Originally, the artists met through common classes and acquaintances. Each artist, having previously exhibited work through various other shows, wanted an opportunity to bring local  fine art to local people in a community setting.

The Vale Schoolhouse, site for the ValeArts Art Show for more than ten years, has been used by the Oakton community’s Vale Club since the 1930’s. Expanding to two shows a year, spring and fall, ValeArts members exhibit more than 100 original works of art  in a three day weekend. Always remaining fresh and new with a changing variety of guest artists and assorted media, ValeArts welcomes each visitor to the colorful world of local art.

The next ValeArts show is scheduled for May 2-4, 2008.
