I am interested in seeking narratives among ambiguity in my paintings. My work emerges from a layering process that involves a variety of media and collage.
The layers build upon each other to tell stories and evoke curiosity.
One of the founding members of ValeArts, Jenna has painted in many different
mediums and styles over the years. Her artistic explorations through realistic
watercolors, impressionistic oil paintings, and mixed media abstract paintings have
produced an imaginative, refined style that is uniquely her own.
Jenna was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. After moving to the United States in 1980,
she balanced a career in nursing while pursuing her longtime interest in art. Jenna has
studied painting and drawing under William Christenberry and Steve Cushner at the
Corcoran College of Art & Design and George Mason University.
Over the past few years, Jenna has participated in print making workshops at the Skop
Art Center in Skopelos, Greece. Currently she is working on mixed media paintings
incorporating wood block prints, screen prints, and mono prints.
Jenna's paintings have been shown in various juried shows and exhibitions, including
group shows at the Korean and Italian embassies, Great Falls Studio, and Art Fest in
Her international exhibitions include group shows at the Galeria Rina Bouwen in Madrid
